BOR (Bureau of Reclamation)

BOR stands for Bureau of Reclamation. The Bureau of Reclamation (also called Reclamation or USBR) is an Interior bureau that manages water projects in the western states. It operates dams, reservoirs, canals, and hydroelectric power plants.

Reclamation buys dam and canal maintenance, construction, equipment repair, environmental work, and power plant services.

Why it matters to a small contractor

Reclamation is a strong fit for heavy civil, electrical, mechanical, and welding firms in the West. Power plant and dam work can involve specialized safety rules and outage schedules, so plan crews carefully.

Example

A welding company bids on refurbishing gates at a Reclamation dam during a planned low-water window.
