ACC (Army Contracting Command)

ACC stands for Army Contracting Command. Army Contracting Command (ACC) is the Army's main contracting organization. It is headquartered at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, and falls under Army Materiel Command.

ACC has contracting centers that buy weapons systems, vehicles, electronics, and research, plus subordinate commands like MICC that buy for installations. Together they award a large share of the Army's contract dollars.

Why it matters to a small contractor

ACC centers tend to buy bigger systems and parts, so suppliers and manufacturers have the best fit there. Trade services for a single post usually come through MICC instead. Knowing which ACC office posts a notice tells you a lot about the kind of buyer you will deal with.

Example

A small electronics distributor finds an ACC contracting center notice for replacement connectors for Army radios and quotes the approved part.
