State and local procurement

MFMP (MyFloridaMarketPlace)

MFMP stands for MyFloridaMarketPlace. MyFloridaMarketPlace is the State of Florida's eProcurement system, managed by the Department of Management Services (DMS). Vendors register in MFMP to do business with state agencies and receive purchase orders and payments.

State solicitations are now advertised in the MFMP Vendor Information Portal. The older Florida Vendor Bid System (VBS) remains mainly as a historical archive of past ads, although some agencies still mention it in legal notice language. MFMP charges vendors a transaction fee on many purchases, so check the current fee rules.

Why it matters to a small contractor

Register in MFMP before you bid on Florida state work, and keep your commodity codes current so bid notices reach you. Build the MFMP transaction fee into your pricing so it does not eat your margin.

Example

A landscaping company registers in MFMP and selects grounds maintenance codes. It gets a notice for mowing at a state office complex, submits its bid, and later factors the transaction fee into its invoice pricing.

MFMP: common questions

Is the Florida Vendor Bid System still used?

For new state solicitations, Florida now advertises in MFMP's Vendor Information Portal. VBS serves mainly as an archive of older ads.

Do Florida cities use MFMP?

Mostly no. MFMP is for state agencies. Florida counties and cities usually post bids on their own systems or commercial platforms.
