Public Purchase (Public Purchase eProcurement site)

Public Purchase stands for Public Purchase eProcurement site. Public Purchase is an online bidding system used by many local governments, school districts, and other public agencies across the country. Agencies post solicitations, documents, and addenda, and vendors register to download them and submit electronic responses.

Vendors register once and then choose which agencies to follow. Some agencies accept uploads through Public Purchase as their official submission method, while others only distribute documents there.

Why it matters to a small contractor

If an agency uses Public Purchase, register and follow it so you get notices and addenda. When it is the official submission channel, the upload is the bid, so do it early and save the confirmation.

Example

A small fencing contractor follows a county on Public Purchase. When the county posts a bid for park fencing, the contractor uploads its signed bid form and receives a confirmation before the deadline.

Public Purchase: common questions

Is Public Purchase free for vendors?

Vendors can register to follow agencies and respond. Check the site for any optional paid features.

Does a Public Purchase upload count as my submission?

If the solicitation names Public Purchase as the submission method, yes. If the bid itself says something else, follow the bid.
