XL EagleDemandStar (DemandStar bid marketplace)
DemandStar stands for DemandStar bid marketplace. DemandStar is a commercial bid notification and distribution marketplace used by many local governments, school districts, and special districts. Agencies post solicitations, documents, and addenda there, and vendors register to download them and get notices.
Vendors can often follow an agency for free, while paid subscriptions offer broader notifications across more agencies and areas. The agency's own purchasing page usually says if DemandStar is its official posting site.
Why it matters to a small contractor
If an agency you want to work with uses DemandStar, register and select it, so you get its bids and addenda. Only pay for wider coverage if it brings you bids you can actually win.
Example
A small HVAC service company sees that a nearby water district posts on DemandStar. It registers, follows the district, and receives an RFP for chiller maintenance with all addenda.
