State and local procurement

OhioBuys (OhioBuys eProcurement system)

OhioBuys stands for OhioBuys eProcurement system. OhioBuys is the State of Ohio's online procurement system, managed by the Ohio Department of Administrative Services. Suppliers register there to receive notifications of state solicitations and to submit responses electronically.

OhioBuys replaced older state bid-posting tools, so older guides may mention different site names. State term contracts and agency solicitations are both handled through it.

Why it matters to a small contractor

If you want Ohio state agency work, register in OhioBuys and pick commodity categories that match your services. Ohio cities and counties often use other portals, so check each local buyer separately.

Example

A small sign and graphics shop registers on OhioBuys and gets notified of a state agency solicitation for building signage. It submits its response and pricing in OhioBuys before the deadline.
