NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration)
NASA stands for National Aeronautics and Space Administration. The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) is the independent federal agency for civil space exploration, aeronautics research, and Earth science.
NASA operates field centers across the country, each with its own procurement office. Beyond rockets and research, the centers buy facility maintenance, construction, IT, security, janitorial, and logistics. NASA also runs SEWP, a governmentwide contract for IT products.
Why it matters to a small contractor
NASA centers are large campuses with steady facility needs. Trades can bid directly on center set-asides or subcontract to the big base operations contractors. NASA follows the FAR plus its own supplement.
Example
An electrical contractor near a NASA center wins a set-aside to replace exterior lighting around test facilities.
