State and local procurement

COMMBUYS (Massachusetts COMMBUYS)

COMMBUYS stands for Massachusetts COMMBUYS. COMMBUYS is the Commonwealth of Massachusetts' online procurement system, managed by the Operational Services Division. State agencies post solicitations there, and statewide contracts are listed there for agencies, municipalities, and other eligible buyers.

Vendors register to receive bid notices and submit electronic quotes. Some bids require acknowledging terms or forms before you can submit, so walk through each bid's requirements early.

Why it matters to a small contractor

If you want Massachusetts public work, register on COMMBUYS and learn how to build and submit a quote before your first real deadline. Statewide contracts listed there are also used by many cities and towns.

Example

A small cleaning supply distributor registers on COMMBUYS and responds to a state bid. It acknowledges the terms, attaches the required forms, and submits its quote on time.
