LaPAC (Louisiana Procurement and Contract Network)
LaPAC stands for Louisiana Procurement and Contract Network. LaPAC is the Louisiana Procurement and Contract Network. It is the state's online listing of bid opportunities, run through the Office of State Procurement. State agencies, and some other public bodies, post solicitations there with bid numbers and documents.
Vendors register with the state's vendor system to receive notices. Each solicitation explains how to respond, which may be sealed paper bids, email, or an electronic bidding service named in the document.
Why it matters to a small contractor
LaPAC is a good daily check for Louisiana public work. Read each bid's response method carefully, because some still require sealed paper bids and others direct you to a separate electronic bidding site.
Example
A small janitorial firm finds a LaPAC listing for cleaning at a state facility. The bid document requires a sealed bid mailed to the Office of State Procurement, so the firm sends it by tracked courier.
LaPAC: common questions
Can I submit bids on LaPAC?
LaPAC is mainly where bids are posted. The solicitation tells you how to submit, which may be paper or a separate electronic system.
Do Louisiana parishes post on LaPAC?
Some public bodies do, but many parishes and cities use their own systems.
