What the job is
Qualifications: M.D. or D.O., active Vermont medical license in good standing, minimum one-year primary care or general medicine internship, and Medicaid credentialing eligibility.
Scope: Prior authorization and medical necessity reviews, including non-emergency transportation; clinical guideline support; peer discussions; appeals support; monthly chronic care case reviews and brief presentations; and quality improvement.
Schedule: As needed, up to 10 hours weekly per physician, with a mutually agreed schedule; multiple physicians may provide up to 16 hours weekly combined.
Deliverables: Written medical opinions within five business days and monthly activity and time records.
Insurance and equipment: Medical malpractice coverage of $1 million per claim and aggregate; own secure computer and broadband connection. In-person work may be required.
