What the job is
Services: Vocational evaluations, transferable skills analysis, testing as needed, earning power assessments, labor market surveys, job analysis, and job development and placement.
Job referrals: Labor market surveys must include at least four available jobs suited to the worker’s physical restrictions and vocational abilities, with medically approved job analyses.
Timing: Initial interviews within 10 days of assignment; assessments, surveys, or job development completed within four months; initial reports within 30 days of interview.
Personnel: Qualified vocational experts with current professional certifications and at least five years of Pennsylvania workers’ compensation rehabilitation experience, including older and newer injury claims.
Coverage: Counselors must be physically located within the selected service territory and cover its entire area. All work must be performed directly, without subcontracting.
Additional requirements: Case reports, employer follow-up and expert testimony as needed, plus $1 million errors and omissions insurance.
