What they need

ScopeBody fluid screening, epithelial cell swabbing, and STR/Y-STR testing of homicide, assault, and sexual assault evidence, including partially tested sexual assault kits.
Kit testingUp to three samples per kit: two questioned samples and one known sample. Please provide unit rates for screening, additional samples, Y-STR testing, specialized evidence, and comparisons to existing profiles.
Laboratory qualificationsISO/IEC 17025 accreditation through ANAB or A2LA and compliance with the 2025 forensic DNA quality assurance standards.
Required technologyGlobalFiler, Applied Biosystems 3500 or 3500xl, GeneMapper ID-X v1.6 or compatible version, and STRmix interpretation for qualifying profiles.
Deliverables and timingSigned court-ready reports and complete electronic case files, including raw data and STRmix files. First case uploads within 90 days of evidence receipt, followed by monthly uploads until completion.
TestimonyAs-needed expert witness testimony onsite in Charlotte; include testimony rates and applicable travel costs.
