What the job is
Schedule: Monday–Friday, excluding observed holidays. Pick up mail at USPS by 8:00 a.m. and deliver to Clay Street by 8:30 a.m.; pick up outgoing mail at Clay Street by 4:15 p.m. and deliver to USPS by 5:30 p.m. All times Pacific.
Volume: Approximately 400 pounds incoming and 500 pounds outgoing daily. Keep mail from separate P.O. boxes segregated.
Equipment and handling: Provide a covered truck or large van, dolly/hand truck, labor, and postal supplies. Secure mail from public access, lock the vehicle when unoccupied, and handle postal transactions and receipted mail. Postage is paid separately.
Qualifications: At least three years of similar courier experience, a valid California Motor Carrier Permit, and drivers with appropriate California licenses.
Insurance: General liability of $1 million per occurrence/$2 million aggregate, auto liability of $1 million per accident, statutory workers’ compensation, and $1 million employer’s liability.
Term and pricing: Anticipated start January 1, 2027, for up to 24 months, with a possible 12-month extension. Please provide an all-inclusive monthly rate.
