What the job is
Term: January 1, 2027–December 31, 2028, with three additional one-year options.
Schedule: One bus operating at a time during the UW-Platteville academic year: Orange route Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–5:00 PM; Purple route Saturday, 11:00 AM–3:00 PM. No service June–August. Maximum 1,822 revenue service hours annually, with no minimum hours guaranteed.
Vehicles: Two wheelchair-accessible F-550 cutaway buses available for lease at $1 per vehicle annually: a 2022 bus with 75,456 miles and a 2019 bus with 142,706 miles. Use the second bus as backup and supply a replacement if both are unavailable. Fenced storage lot provided.
Operating responsibilities: Provide employee drivers, accessibility assistance, dispatch and communications, fare handling, trip records, and monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting. Include driver training and drug and alcohol testing.
Maintenance and insurance: Include all preventive maintenance, repairs, pre-existing defects, towing, and replacement-vehicle costs; $1 million auto and general liability coverage, vehicle physical damage coverage at fair market value, and workers' compensation.
Pricing: Send all-inclusive hourly rates for 2027 and 2028, covering labor, fuel, maintenance, insurance, and administration. Include rates for three option years using successive 1% annual increases. Only revenue service hours are billable; collected fares are credited against charges.
