What the job is
Term: One year with four optional annual renewals; prompt availability for individual projects required.
HVAC testing and balancing: Air handlers, fan coils, terminal boxes, supply/exhaust/smoke fans, pumps and water coils; balance airflow and water flow within 10% of design and verify controls, safeties and energy management systems.
Commissioning: Existing buildings and new construction, covering pre-design through post-acceptance, functional testing, final reports and recorded operator training.
Follow-up: Three inspections within 90 days after occupancy, an opposite-season inspection and a 12-month balancing warranty.
Qualifications: TAB firms need a currently licensed Texas professional engineer and five years under their current name. Commissioning firms need ACG membership and certification plus at least 10 years of relevant experience.
