What the job is
Initial treatment: Complete by December 31, 2026, using forestry mowing on dry, accessible ground and chainsaws or brush saws elsewhere. Target buckthorn, honeysuckle, Siberian elm, boxelder, eastern red cedar, amur maple, white mulberry, and specified prickly ash.
Cut-stump treatment: Use water-based herbicide containing at least 20% glyphosate with marker dye; eastern red cedar requires cutting only. Double-girdle and treat Siberian elm and boxelder over 6 inches DBH.
Follow-up treatment: Treat the same 9 acres between May 1 and June 30, 2027, with targeted foliar application of glyphosate, marker dye, non-ionic surfactant, and water to remaining target vegetation and resprouts.
Site protection: Preserve designated desirable trees and herbaceous vegetation. Leave cut vegetation lying flat without piles, keep access routes clear, and minimize soil disturbance.
Applicators: Current Minnesota commercial pesticide applicator licenses required. Hand, wand, or dauber application only; no broadcast boom spraying.
Pricing: Provide separate per-acre prices for initial and follow-up treatments, including all labor, equipment, herbicide, supplies, transportation, and taxes.
