What the job is
Service volume: Capacity for up to 6,000 requests annually, including approximately 275 council meetings, 50–100 board and commission meetings, and at least 200 translated documents per year.
Interpretation: Certified in-person, video remote, and telephonic interpreters for simultaneous and consecutive assignments, with 24/7/365 on-demand access and after-hours/weekend availability.
Languages: At minimum, Arabic, Bengali, Braille, French, and Latin American Spanish, including dialect variations.
Translation: ISO 17100-compliant translation and proofreading for forms, notices, signage, flyers, applications, and other materials, with no minimum word count.
Turnaround: Two to four days for standard requests and two to four hours for emergency documents up to 350 words.
Qualifications: At least five years of relevant experience; certified interpreters and translators; HIPAA compliance; and required licensing and certifications.
Equipment and technology: On-site interpretation equipment upon request and reliable high-quality video and audio for remote assignments.
Term: Two years, with one or multiple providers anticipated.
