Scope: Routine and special autopsies, neuropathology consultations, histology services, evidence handling, written reports, scene response, and expert testimony as needed.
Qualifications: ABPath or AOBPath forensic pathology certification, unrestricted California Physician and Surgeon License, and at least 10 years of post-certification forensic pathology practice. Provider must be located within 80 miles of the Santa Ana facility and maintain independent professional judgment.
Availability: 24/7 telephone consultation; autopsies within 72 hours of notification, normally weekdays from 9 a.m. to noon, excluding holidays; organ procurement consultation within four hours.
Histology and reports: Include processing, special stains, supplies, weekday cassette transport, and chain of custody. Complete signed autopsy reports within 30 days of final testing results.
Pricing: Provide an all-inclusive per-job rate covering staffing, travel, parking, mileage, supplies, and operating expenses for a three-year service term. Volume is not guaranteed.
