Vendor requirements: Mercedes-approved outfitter located within 100 miles of the delivery address; identical outfitting for both vans using new equipment.
Interior: R-7 wool insulation, sound-dampened finishes, mesh-view bulkhead, dimmable LED lighting, aluminum cabinetry, shelves and countertops, 11 cylinder brackets, and two vibration-isolated 18U server racks per van.
Power: Tier 4 diesel generator meeting or exceeding Cummins Onan QD 12500, connected to the vehicle fuel tank, with a sealed, ventilated enclosure limiting interior noise to 60 dB.
Electrical: NEC-compliant wiring, 60-amp 120/240V panel, 20 outlets, shore-power connection, 100-amp automatic/manual transfer switch, and auxiliary battery system.
HVAC and ventilation: Two roof-mounted air conditioners with heat strips and digital thermostat per van; custom instrument exhaust ducts, fans, sampling inlets and pass-throughs.
Exterior: Flashing lights and light bars, side ladder rated for 400 lbs., mast brackets, running boards, 3,000-lb. hitch receiver, upgraded shocks and leaf springs, and waterproofed penetrations.
Weight and testing: Maximum outfitted weight of 7,350 lbs. per van; water-intrusion testing and generator load tests at 50%, 75% and 90% for four hours each at ambient temperatures of at least 90°F.
Completion and warranty: Complete by August 31, 2027; include a two-year warranty, electrical schematics, manuals and electrical/generator training.
