What the job is
Service: 20 school and job-site routes, plus field trips; one vehicle per listed route, with morning and afternoon service as applicable.
Schedule: Starting December 1, 2026, with route-specific end dates in June 2027; 107–145 service days per school route. Most operate Monday–Friday; the Mahwah technical-school route operates Monday–Thursday.
Vehicles: Route-specific 7-passenger minivans and 16–54-passenger yellow school buses, including a wheelchair-lift bus. Yellow buses must be model year 2014 or newer; wheelchair-lift buses may be 2013 or newer. Backup vehicles required.
Equipment: Air conditioning, real-time GPS, digital video/audio recording, two-way radios, electronic child-alert systems, and required student restraints.
Staff: Qualified drivers and aides with background checks, medical clearances, and required training. Aides required on designated routes; English required, with English/Spanish capability on specified routes.
Insurance: Minimum $5 million automobile liability per occurrence, plus workers’ compensation with $1 million employer’s liability limits.
Pricing: Provide daily rates per route, separate daily aide rates, and mileage increase/decrease rates. For field trips, include duration/mileage categories, overnight and drop-off/pick-up rates, and overtime per half-hour; include tolls.
