What the job is
Coverage: Blue Earth, Brown, Cottonwood, Dodge, Faribault, Fillmore, Freeborn, Goodhue, Houston, Jackson, Le Sueur, Lincoln, Lyon, Martin, Mower, Murray, Nicollet, Nobles, Olmsted, Pipestone, Redwood, Rice, Rock, Steele, Wabasha, Waseca, Watonwan, and Winona counties.
Qualifications: Retired sworn peace officer with extensive law enforcement experience; must reside full-time in one of the listed counties and remain outside active sworn employment. All work must be performed personally; no subcontracting.
Scope: Monthly in-person agency visits, traffic safety outreach, enforcement planning meetings, training promotion, campaign reporting support, conferences, and performance reporting.
Term and workload: Anticipated November 15, 2026–September 30, 2027, with up to four annual extensions; approximately 1,500 hours per 12-month period.
Travel and equipment: Frequent regional travel and some overnight trips using your own insured vehicle; computer with Microsoft Office 365, email, and telephone messaging required.
Pricing: Fixed hourly rate inclusive of travel, equipment, supplies, insurance, and all other expenses; maximum $100,000 and 1,500 hours per 12-month period.
Insurance: $2 million general liability, automobile liability, and professional liability coverage; workers’ compensation where applicable.
