What the job is
Design: Evaluate pier alternatives, update cost estimates, and prepare structural, civil, utility, and sea turtle compliant lighting plans. Prestressed concrete construction on pile bent foundations is assumed; top-down construction is preferred.
Restaurant: Evaluate the existing restaurant substructure and design strengthening if needed, maintaining restaurant access and operations during construction. Assess replacement options if feasible.
Environmental: Prepare permit applications, biological assessments, environmental documentation, and grant applications.
Deliverables and support: Provide 60%, 90%, and final signed and sealed plans, specifications, estimates, constructability review, and support through contractor selection, construction inspections, and closeout.
Schedule and qualifications: Target approximately 18 months for design and permitting. Project manager must be a Florida registered Professional Engineer with at least 10 years of marine project management and design experience, including ocean piers.
