What the job is
Schedule: June 14–July 30, 2027, Monday–Friday, excluding holidays; 34 service days. Program hours are 10:00 AM–3:00 PM.
Capacity: Approximately 80 children per route across two routes; provide buses, drivers, fuel, and all operating costs.
West route: Vandenberg Village, Lompoc Public Library, and Lompoc Police Station, with a possible Buellton stop. Pickups begin at 8:45 AM; final drop-off is approximately 4:20 PM.
East route: Santa Ynez High School, Solvang Veteran's Memorial, and Albertson's in Buellton. Pickups run 9:05–9:20 AM; drop-offs run 3:50–4:05 PM.
Field trips: Gaviota State Beach on June 25 and July 23; Jalama County Beach Park on July 1 and 30; Carpinteria City Beach on July 9; Santa Barbara East Beach on July 16; Goleta Beach Park on a date to be determined.
Extended trips: July 9 and 16 require approximately 6:30 AM pickup and 5:00 PM drop-off. July 9 will likely require one additional bus, preferably Type A or B.
Drivers: Commercial Class B license with passenger endorsement required. Drivers may leave during program hours but must return by 2:55 PM for 3:00 PM loading.
