We are seeking quotes for manufacture of aluminum shipping and storage containers (Container Research Corp. drawing 530E001-501) for DLA Aviation Philadelphia.
Scope: Manufacture, test, and inspect aluminum container shells per drawing 530E001-501 (CAGE 05259), latest revision, and all referenced specifications.
Source approval: The item requires engineering source approval by the design activity; new sources must contact the buyer for Source Approval Request procedures.
Tooling: The contractor supplies all fixtures, jigs, dies, test equipment, and other manufacturing aids; the Government provides none.
Finish and sealing: Finish is electrodeposited alkaline zinc-nickel per ASTM B 841 Class 1, Type B, Grade 3 instead of cadmium; crevices sealed with MIL-S-81733 or equivalent.
UID marking: Each container needs a nameplate with a data-matrix Unique Identification marking per MIL-STD-130, using a serial number group obtained from the buyer.
Pre-award survey: New manufacturers may face a pre-award survey and post-award conference; this is a total small business set-aside, and the closing date was extended to 11 Aug 2026.
