We are seeking quotes for manufacture of aluminum shipping and storage containers built to Container Research Corporation drawing 583E001 for DLA Aviation Philadelphia.
Scope: Manufacture aluminum-shell containers per drawing 05259 583E001 (latest revision) and referenced drawing 80132 15930.
Source approval: Item needs engineering source approval; new manufacturers must request approval from the buyer, and a pre-award survey and post-award conference may be required.
Materials and finish: Zinc-Nickel finish per ASTM B 841 Class 1 Type B Grade 3, MIL-S-81733 sealing compound at crevices, and MIL-D-3464 Type II desiccant at 1/3 unit per cubic foot.
Welding: Welding and welders must meet AWS D1.1, D1.2 (or MIL-W-22248 Class 4 for aluminum), D1.3 and D1.6 as applicable, with cleaning per MIL-C-5541.
Marking and parts: Each container needs a nameplate with a UID data matrix marking per MIL-STD-130, and only the approved shock mount may be used.
Set-aside and deadline: Total small business set-aside; closing date is extended to 17 Aug 2026, and the Government provides no tooling or test equipment.
