Area: 678 acres total: 646 acres of mechanical treatment and 32 acres of hand treatment.
Mechanical treatment: Cut designated conifers and dead aspen; skid, process, and deck merchantable lodgepole pine and Engelmann spruce at designated landings. Merchantable trees require at least 7-inch diameter at breast height, 8-foot logs, 6-inch top diameter inside bark, and less than 66% defect.
Hand treatment: Cut all dead trees and thin live trees at least 5 inches in diameter to 10-foot spacing. No equipment entry into hand treatment areas.
Slash: Pile mechanical treatment debris, including existing downed material, in compacted piles at least 15 feet high by 50 feet wide by 50 feet long, observing required setbacks. Hand treatment slash must be cut to 8-foot maximum lengths and scattered no deeper than 18 inches, with excess piled outside hand treatment areas.
Included costs: All labor, equipment, materials, access-route restoration, and 250 pounds of certified weed-free grass seed in the specified mix.
