What the job is
Service period: November 2, 2026–September 30, 2027.
Youth program: Plan and deliver a free, four-day heritage field school for high school students in July 2027, including partner coordination and a final report.
Maritime preservation: Provide education and planning support for the Maritime Washington National Heritage Area, prepare one historic vessel nomination, and develop a coastal flooding adaptation guide for historic structures.
Education and outreach: Provide statewide technical assistance, preservation publications and digital content, and up to three virtual workshops with recordings.
Property monitoring: Develop a monitoring plan and inspect 14 historic properties, with individual reports and project reviews as needed.
Staff expertise: Qualified professionals in history, architectural history, and historic architecture, with statewide preservation education and strategic planning experience.
