What the job is
Scope: Drain and transfer sludge, remove solids from four aeration basins, two ATADs, and one SNDR, and provide dewatering, loading, hauling, disposal, and site restoration.
Estimated quantities: 500 dry tons of solids and 25 truckloads requiring testing. Quote solids removal by dry ton, with mobilization priced separately; quantities are not guaranteed.
Equipment: Supply pumps, conventional dewatering equipment, polymer conditioning as needed, and lifting equipment for stop logs. Geotextiles/geotubes are prohibited. Aeration and ATAD tanks require pumping over tank walls.
Operating constraints: Maintain continuous treatment; clean aeration basins sequentially with only one basin and one ATAD offline at a time. SNDR shutdown is limited to seven days; extended work requires handling approximately 45,000 gallons/day of additional sludge without additional payment.
Disposal and testing: Haul to Battle Creek Landfill, 219 Landfill Drive, Luray, VA 22835. Include tipping fees, daily batch paint-filter testing, and VELAP-accredited percent-total-solids testing for every truckload. Material must contain no free liquid; landfill capacity is typically 100 tons/day.
Concrete repairs: Include separate pricing for approximately 20 square feet of spall repair and 210 linear feet of crack repair using manufacturer-approved installers.
Schedule and pricing: Substantial completion within 90 days and final completion within 120 days of contract start. Include all labor, equipment, testing, transport, disposal, restoration, and applicable prevailing wages. Provide a draft removal and dewatering work plan with your quote.
