What the job is
Scope: Drain, pump, and clean four aeration tanks, two autothermal aerobic digesters, and one storage nitrification denitrification reactor; provide equipment, temporary facilities, and site restoration.
Quantities: Approximately 500 dry tons of magnetite/biosolids, 20 square feet of concrete spall repairs, and 210 linear feet of concrete crack repairs. Provide removal pricing per dry ton; actual quantities may vary.
Dewatering: Perform on site using conventional equipment; no off-site dewatering or geotubes. Digester material may reach 130–140°F.
Operations: Keep the plant operational, cleaning aeration tanks 1–4 before the digesters and reactor, with only one area out of service at a time. Dewatering hours are 6 a.m.–10 p.m. daily, subject to plant conditions. Reactor cleaning is allotted approximately 7–8 days; overruns may add 45,000 gallons/day of sludge.
Disposal and testing: Include loading, hauling, and tipping fees at Battle Creek Landfill, 219 Landfill Drive, Luray, VA 22835, typically limited to 100 tons/day. Material must pass the paint filter test at least once per batch daily; each truckload requires total-solids testing by a VELAP-accredited laboratory.
Schedule and quote: Allow 90 calendar days for substantial completion and 120 for final completion. Include a draft dewatering, sequencing, and hauling plan, and applicable prevailing wages in pricing.
