Modernization: Supply and install all-new motors, gearboxes, brakes, controllers, steps, comb plates, step chains, tracks, supports, handrails, balustrades, skirting, floor plates, and safety devices. Maintain a minimum speed of 100 FPM.
Key specifications: Enclosed planetary gear machines or equivalent, permanent magnet ceramic brakes, lubrication-free step chains, and non-slip steps and comb plates with demarcation inserts or lights; painted demarcation is not accepted.
Existing structure: Retain existing trusses and cladding, with cladding repairs or replacement as determined during site review.
Phasing: Provide labor to modernize two escalators at a time while keeping at least three operational throughout the project.
Included work: Site protection, barricades, removal and disposal, installation, testing, commissioning, and final documentation. Meet ASME A17.1, ADA, and applicable safety codes.
Warranty and schedule: Include at least one year of parts and labor coverage and your estimated project duration.
