What the job is
Scope: Assist with implementing and performing an ongoing internal audit function for a defined benefit pension plan with over $26 billion in assets and 162,000 members, retirees, and beneficiaries.
Term: Anticipated February 1, 2027–January 31, 2032, with two optional one-year extensions.
Firm qualifications: CPA firm licensed to do business in Hawaii, operating for at least five years, with internal audit experience serving at least one organization of similar size and complexity; pension plan experience preferred.
Local presence: Hawaii office and availability to meet with the board and staff Monday–Friday, 7:45 a.m.–4:30 p.m. HST.
Lead consultant: At least seven years of audit experience with organizations of similar size and complexity; pension plan experience preferred.
