We are seeking quotes for aluminum shipping and storage containers manufactured to Navy/DLA specifications at DLA Weapons Support Philadelphia.
Applicable Drawing: Containers must be manufactured per Container Research Corporation drawing 761E001 (CAGE 05259), latest revision.
Key Materials: Container shell is aluminum; cadmium plating is replaced with electrodeposited alkaline Zinc-Nickel Alloy per ASTM B841, Class 1, Type B, Grade 3.
Welding Requirements: Aluminum welding must comply with MIL-W-22248 Class 4 and welder qualification must meet MIL-STD-1595A.
Surface Finish: Exterior surfaces must be glass bead blasted using Size #8 beads per MIL-G-9954 at 50–70 PSIG to achieve a uniform matte finish.
Source Approval: Engineering source approval from the design activity is required; new manufacturers must contact the buyer before submitting a quote.
Set-Aside Status: This acquisition is a total small business set-aside.
