What the gig needs
We are looking for Orientation & Mobility services for residents at Abilene State Supported Living Center, 2501 Maple St, Abilene, TX 79602.
- Services: On-site orientation and mobility support for visually impaired, blind, and Deaf/Blind residents
- Scope: Assessments, direct services, pre-cane training, sighted guide techniques, trailing techniques, cane skills, sensory awareness, spatial concepts, and independent movement support
- Staff Support: Training and support for facility staff on safely transporting and escorting visually impaired residents
- Schedule: Monthly visits as requested, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Central Time
- Qualifications: Minimum 3 years relevant experience and COMS or NOMC certification
- Term: September 1, 2026 through August 31, 2029
