Shelf life: Item must have at least 85 percent of its shelf life remaining when first received by the Government.
Marking: Mark items per MIL-STD-130 for mechanical parts, with shelf-life dates (manufacture/cure and expiration) marked as month/year.
Inspection: Government source inspection per FAR 52.246-2 is required before shipment.
Packaging and shipping: Standard commercial packaging and labeling is accepted, and a TAC code will be provided for shipping.
Configuration control: Engineering change proposals, deviations and waivers must follow MIL-STD-973 and be sent to the NAVICP-MECH Contracting Officer.
