What the gig needs
We are seeking quotes for commercial power generation projects on leased land at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Fort Detrick, Fort Drum, Letterkenny Army Depot, Picatinny Arsenal, Tobyhanna Army Depot, and West Point Military Reservation.
- Project scope: The lessee will finance, design, permit, build, own, operate, secure, maintain, and decommission the facility.
- Power options: Projects may use natural gas, geothermal, nuclear, or solar, with nuclear units limited to 500 MW each.
- Energy delivery: The lessee must secure a third-party buyer for normal operations and provide Army energy resilience during grid outages exceeding four hours.
- Lease term: The enhanced use lease will run for 50 years, with a possible renewal if proposed.
- Lease payment: Consideration must be cash, in-kind, or both and at least equal the appraised fair market value of the lease interest.
- Compliance and restoration: The lessee must follow applicable federal, state, and local requirements and restore the property before the lease expires.
