We are seeking quotes for the purchase and marine removal of scrap metal at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers waterfront facility in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Scrap Quantity: The one-time lump-sum sale includes an estimated 300-plus long tons of mixed ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metal.
Marine Removal: The purchaser must provide hopper barges, tug services, marine transportation, labor, equipment, and removal logistics.
Government Loading: Government personnel will load the scrap onto the purchaser's hopper barges using Government-owned equipment.
Piece Dimensions: The estimated heaviest piece is up to 35 tons and the estimated longest piece is 62 feet, but these estimates are not warranted.
Site Inspection: A mandatory pre-bid site inspection must be scheduled, and failure to attend makes the bidder ineligible for award.
Bid Requirements: Sealed bids with Appendix A and Standard Form 114 are due August 10, 2026, at 5:00 PM Central Time.
